I would not advocate for one-time assessments, as these do not necessarily reflect all the subtleties of learning experienced in the physical education class. Instead, assessments can be done in the form of reflections based on the analysis of personal performances and knowledge. Furthermore, evaluation checklists can be used throughout individual lessons. For example, a checklist can include questions such as: ‘‘Were the students’ hands pointing up most of the time when receiving passes?’’ and ‘‘Did the student execute the appropriate defensive position?’’ Additionally, action plans can be completed during game settings. These will include strategies developed by individuals and teams. For a sample assessment see the evaluation for a basketball unit (Learning and Evaluation Situation)
